We're still alive! See!

So it's been over nine months since my last post. We've had a lot of ups and downs this school year. We officially started the L.E.A.P. program! Yay! Kinda... No, really though, it's been great. A big adjustment, but great thought. We moved from our big classroom with three adults and nine kiddos, to a smaller classroom with now five adults and 18 kiddos. We are still a PPCD Co-Teach half day program, we are just now inclusion all day. 18 kiddos in the morning and 18 in the afternoon. If you want to find out more about the L.E.A.P. program go to Google and type Ted Bovey LEAP.

We have upped the awesome factor on some old stuff had. We have redone our schedules. Because everything is different this year, and we are all inclusion, we've had to figure out a way to modify the individual schedules to match the big schedule. We struggled for most of the first semester, but once we figure it out, it was definitely a duh moment. In November we simplified our class schedule, and that's when we figured out the individual schedules. The big and littles are exactly the same. The pics below are of one of the littles. Left is when the day begins. Right after we have completed some of the schedule. On the big schedule we have one of the kiddos cover the picture with a smiley face after we completed that activity.

And it's over!

Okay so technically school was out last Thursday for the kids and Friday for the teachers. And I forgot to hit publish AND save last week when I originally wrote this post (as well as the post before this). It was a long year, okay?! So while trying to clean and put things away, we found out that we were moving. Uh, yay?

Anyway... I have pictures of some more of our workstations! And who doesn't love pictures? That's right, no one.

End of the year parties!

I dread party days at school. There's so much preparation and very little party. Plus we have to do two! AND in the same day! It's a lot of work, but it is fun when it's all over. And what kind of person would I be if I didn't have pictures? Here are a few from our Co-Teach end of the year party.

It's almost over?!

Can y'all believe that it's already May? AND that May is more than half way over?! While I'm having trouble believing that I've been 30 for almost five months, I CAN believe that the school year is coming to a close. Our kiddos are more than ready to be on vacation! While I am going to miss them, we definitely do need a break from each other.

I took a picture of our workstation area, and a few pictures of one of the workstation tasks that we made. Once we start to put things away for the summer, I hope to have pics of all the workstations that we have made this year!

StoryBots

Two posts in one day! I know, I'm CRAZY!!! But I really wanted to share some of these amazing videos that we love in our co-teach classroom. The StoryBots are super cute and the kids love them. So far we've only used the ABC Jamboree videos with the co-teach kiddos, but the classic song vids are cute and I think we can use them with the pre-school kiddos too! Check out their website (www.storybots.com) and you can even star in one of their videos!

Catching up... and Barefoot Books

It's been a whirlwind since our 100th day of school celebration. But we are still going strong. In mid February our classes attended The Special Olympics Young Athlete day. There were different stations set up for the kids to go to; bean bag toss, soccer, softball tee, basketball, a parachute, and my personal favorite the obstacle course. The kids had an amazing time and I slept really well that night. =] I wish I had taken some pics to share, because it was really an amazing day for the kids!
